Arcadia's Ammar Moussa Places 32nd in World Cross Country Championships

Moussa finishes second among American runners.

Arcadia senior Ammar Moussa continued his strong year Sunday, placing 32nd out of 106 finishers in the junior men's race at the 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Punta Umbria, Spain.

Moussa ran the 8 kilometer course in 24 minutes, 21 seconds. Moussa's time was two minutes behind Geoffrey Kipsang Kamworor of Kenya, who won the race with a time of 22:21.

Moussa qualified for Sunday's race on . There Moussa was the No. 6 American qualifier with a time of 25:20.

On Sunday in Spain, Moussa finished second out of the six American runners.

Moussa also qualified for last year's race in Poland, where he finished 66th out of 118 finishers with a time of 25:00.
