Gold medal winning skeet shooter Kim Rhode of Monrovia did not qualify for the women's trap shooting finals Saturday, missing the opportunity to earn a second medal at the London Olympics.
Rhode, who set a U.S. record Sunday by when she won gold in skeet shooting, finished 9th in the trap shooting qualifying round Saturday morning. The top six advanced to the finals with the chance to medal.
Rhode hit 68 of 75 targets in qualifying. Gold medal winner Jessica Rossi of Italy set a world record by hitting all 75 targets in qualifying. She missed just one shot during the finals, finishing with 99 points.
