Bears Sighted Multiple Times in Arcadia Neighborhood

Ursine creatures cause a minor stir on Highland Oaks Saturday afternoon.

Highland Oaks residents reported multiple sightings of a bear and her cub wandering the neighborhood Saturday.

The first sighting took place shortly after noon, when the furry duo decided to tour a backyard in the 1800 block of Highland Oaks Drive, according to scanner reports. The bears disappeared back into a flood control channel minutes after Arcadia police arrived, Sgt. Dan Crowther said.
