Duarte, Bradbury and Bears, Oh My!

Authorities located another bear in the Duarte/Bradbury area after searching for it just hours before.

Authorities tranquilized and removed a bear that reportedly was seen just hours earlier Tuesday.

The bear was located and tranquilized around 3:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Swiss Trail Road, according to Lieutenant Loy McBride of the Temple Sheriff's Station. It was unknown if the bear was in a tree or lumbering about in a residence.

The animal was located a little southwest of the first reported sighting.

Authorities received the first report of the bear some time around 11 a.m. in the area of Royal Oaks Drive and Vineyard Avenue, according to the Temple Sheriff's Station. The animal, however, made a quick escape.

"When we went up there and checked with fish and game we did not locate it," McBride said.
