Memorial Day Events in Arcadia and Beyond

Local communities remember the sacrifices of veterans with ceremonies and celebrations.

From aerial shows to rifle salutes, several events honoring veterans of wars past and present are being hosted by communities throughout the San Gabriel Valley this Memorial Day, commemorating not only fallen heroes, but also those still among us.

Perhaps the largest and most friendly-family celebration will take place at during the 15th Annual Memorial Day event, Remembering Our Veterans and Their Families: Past, Present and Future, held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m at 405 Santa Anita Ave.

Hosted by county supervisor Michael D. Antonovich and co-hosted by Channel 4 weatherman Fritz Coleman, the remembrance will feature a tribute to servicemen and women at 11:30 a.m., an aerial fly-over show by the "Condor Squadron" at 12:30 p.m. and sky divers at around 1:50 p.m.
