This is sad news. I've had the pleasure of knowing Mr O'brien for years now. He's always utilizedRead More our services when taking the kids to competitions. Nothing brought him more joy than helping his team become great athletes. It always amazed me however, how we (Arcadia) rarely ever heard about the teams accomplishments. Had it been the football team or some science or math club we would have but no noise was ever made about the track team. These kids along with their coach did great things. In a time when obesity is a concern in young folks this kept them busy and fit. He helped them win -- what other direction is there to go in? For the most part these kids had to raise and pay for most of their own travel expenses and after winning came back to school without any credit besides what they experienced and the pride of their families and coach. This town in general is getting further away from values and loyalty. If you read this Mr. O'brien, you're in our prayers and we wish you luck wherever you may go. You're a good man. -Paul & Christina

I agree with the above!! The direction I believe is to have a teacher take the coaching position andRead More give that person a stipen to save money. I really hope that isn't the case. But I say a what cost, my child's athletic experience? The Atheletic Dept. should take a Stand for our Kids!!!

Congratulations to AHS athletes. I've followed Melody's basketball game since she came to AHS asRead More freshmen. You could tell then that she was going to be a star in basketball. And I often go to the range at Arcadia Par 3. It's amazing how these kids taking beginning golf lessons have grown up to comptete so well in high school. Often times, after they do homework, parents would take them to the course to work on their game. Congratulations to Jonathan and Bryan on being accepted to Yale and UC Irvine. And wow, Mackenzie playing Division 1 softball for University of No. Texas. Congratulations to all for your hard work. Good luck in your college career.
