Ann has written for the San Francisco Chronicle and won a James Beard award for cowriting The Essence of Chocolate. (She didn't enjoy winning the award as much as she loved hiking through the Dominican Republic in search of rogue cacao trees.) She's gotten into the water with Keiko the killer whale and then written about killer whales with Jean-Michel Cousteau. Ann has co-written six cookbooks with chefs Michael Chiarello, Cat Cora, and Elizabeth Falkner and written for Chuck Williams, the founder of Williams-Sonoma. Plus Ann edited the very first Pottery Barn catalog.
